Fiddich
Just ordered an sx3, the camo one with 3.5" chamber. its my first semi auto and was reading up on them and it says about breaking it in. Is this essential and how does it affect its use? Is it likely to cycle clay loads?? thanks in advance!
bullet boy
I've got exactly the same gun. Never heard of this before just picked it up then shot it. All though I do use different chokes for various shooting situations. Enjoy your new gun it's a cracker!

Fiddich
Was something to do with using some heavier loads first to loosen up the action. Will the 3.5" one cycle 28g clay carts?
simjakcal
ive got the same gun,,carnt fault it .....also heard about using a box or 2 of heavy loads first off to break it in,,,yet I mainly use 32g/6's so that's what i put through it..but I am now using pigeon exress 29g/6's as picked a few slabs up on offer,,,have used 24g clay carts with no probs.... Cosd
I got a new beretta semi and had to put 100 32g 6's to start with before going onto lighter shells. Not sure about the SX3 Edited July 6, 2014 by Cosd
Fiddich
Brill, may just put a few boxes of a heavier load through first. Just wanted to know if I was gonna be able to use it for clays aswell though I don't go that often anyway

Recoil is also quite good as well for such a light gun.
figgy
Just buy a couple of boxes of 50gram carts and put em through it. Run the gun wet to start with ie where the bolt block slides back and forth inside the action, put a little oil in the slide runners for the first slab of carts. I had to with mine kept trying to run it dry but after a box or so of carts it would start sticking, oiled it and great again. The action needs running in a bit to polish the metal parts so it runs smooth. Oh don't forget strip it down first and clean the hell out of it as they come with a preservation waxoil type stuff on them. Plenty videos how to strip and reassemble online. I now use a quick squirt of WD Dry lube before every outing, Grey and Yellow can with inbuilt straw. Figgy
Fiddich
Thanks mate, that was gonna be my next question without driving you all mad with questions. Wanted to know how easy it was to strip down and which parts I needed to oil etc. I'm pretty obsessive with gun cleaning so don't want to use wrong stuff or not oil something I should. Sure it will be easy once I done it a few times
BaikalsRule90
the sx3 is so reliable I wouldn't worry too much, my mate bought a brand new one and put 24 gram through it straight away without fault, or any fault since. its an absolute gem of a gun. #edit - his is also a 3.5 inch. Fiddich
Well at least with all your replays it confirms I bought the right gun. Was gonna go for a maxus but preferred the sx3
