activeviii
I bought a second hand Ruger of a good friend. very happy with it but i have this problem with dirt. The gent i bought of likes oils and greases and powder lubs. but not so keen on heavy cleaning, Me! i like clean, light oil. Couple of days ago i did a full strip and degrease with the normal acetone. turned out it was powder coated and acetone eats in to powder coat. D'OH! So! i ended up having to do more than i planned. i was going to clean and oil plus adjust the bolt ramp angle and polish. This is the before. it has been full stripped and a couple bits i have started to grind/polish Before After Degreased over night, shot blast and soak in acetone again. Waiting for paint. I will add a few more as i go. Just finished a coffee so time to fire up the oven and start painting.
Loki
Hi Thank you for sharing your project - interesting....... I'm awaiting my 10/22 action and barrel being Cerakoted but wonder if I should have had the trigger unit done as well........doh! Cheers L
activeviii
Loki Its in the oven. Yes. 90% of the internals have been changed by the previous owner via rimfire magic. I have had to adjust a few bits and polish a few more. still a few more bits i want to polish and i want to get the back lash reduced as there's loads of travel. I have a new 4oz pot of armour black ceracote on the bench that will be up for sale. its very surprising how far it stretches. I have done the breach of my urika 2, a 22 cz. 3 moderator. couple of magazines and now this Ruger. i reckon i could get another whole rifle out of the pot too. oh and i have 3.5oz of micro slick too.lol

JDog
As always fantastically educational. Although my guns give me great pleasure when I use them, and I clean them religiously after use, I really don't know anything about the internal mechanisms.
