tonker
I went out yesterday with my mate, he has had a few problems (health wise) and hasn't been out for a while. Not an early start,as had to feed stock, and picked him up at 9.45 and got to the field at 10 Set dozen repainted decoys after looking over the field for 15mins. not easy with footpath, cemetery, ground I couldn't go on, Sun etc, etc. Made a hide under a tree and settled down. We only put the dozen decoys out as I wanted to see if they'd work after my paint job. To say we had a great day was an understatement, the weather was glorious, we chatted, laughed, put the world to rights, and just enjoyed each others company as we hadn't been able to do that for a while. Oh and we did a bit of shooting as well in between times. After deciding to leave the black stuff alone, we went for a few pigeon and ended up with 25ish Crows/Jackdaws, 1 Magpie that was foolish enough to sit in the tree above me, and 40 pigeon, We must have missed literally hundreds of available shots because we were busy chatting. It's not always all about the size of the bag. Packed up about 5 and called it a day as I had Sausage,Bacon and Gammon being delivered from the Pigs I had done a while back. As I said before a great day out!

tonker
Great day sounds wonderful all in all, what land were you shooting on stubble, drilling etc thanks for the write up! It was Wheat stubble we were on, only two grounds there, so not huge acreage, on that bit we'll be about 40 of maize and 40 of new ley, so about 15 of stubble
