no what whay could i talk to her about getting one?

Depends on your age I reckon.

If you're young enough, you could try the old "throw a tantrum" routine  .

Seriously, a dog does need some serious looking after so anything to prove to her you will put the time in etc. Tough one though :yp: .

Best of luck with it anyway :D .

Try using english :D

Jokes aside you'll just have to show to her that you have the time, money and responsibilty that a dog requires. afterall whos paying for the dog, food, vet bills, insurance etc etc. There maybe a very good reason shes saying no...

I keep a marine reef aquarium, and an Akita.

You really cant compare fish to dogs.

The reef can be left for a few days or more with feeders, auto top offs, calcium reactors etc. The dog most definately cant.

My tank is a few minutes every night. The dog is 2 hrs a day. Then let out at night, no staying at mates at the drop of a hat...........they're worse than babies.

Your friends generally wont let you bring them with you. So think hard if you want a pooch.

Why not sit down with Mom and ask her how you could go about showing the responsibility that she is looking for. After doing say 6 months of what she has as expectations, should prove to both of you that you are ready to have a dog.

Dont you know at your age that it is easier to beg for forgivness after the fact than it is to get permission in the first place :D:no: :yp:

looking after dogs takes a lot of time and work i got my first dog last year and found it very hard at first you lose a little bit of your independence and you always have to think of them before you make any plans to do anything like i said i found it hard and am a 40 year old mum of two who do not have much of a social life to start with anyway my advice is do you know any one who got a dog you can look after for a week just to see if you can give it the time that it would need or have you any kennels near you that you can go and help out at weekends this will help you to see what it is like to look after a dog and also prove how comitted you are to caring for a dog of your own + you must remember they are not cheap things to keep my dog cost me four hundred and 50 pounds when we got her last july we have since spent about that again if not more but dont despair if you are really conmitted to having a dog then you will one day might just take a little bit longer then you had wanted it to :D:no: :yp: suzy
