scolopax
Do anyone insure there guns separately, or do you rely on your household insurance? If you do specifically insure your guns who do you use?
David BASC
Some home polices are fine but always check that cover also applied away from home. Remember as a BASC member you have £5000 of gun insurance include, if you damage another members gun when its in your possession, or of course if lend your gun to another member and they damage it. BASC offers a separate stand also gun insurance product, but we will very soon be launching a brand new one David

David BASC
The stand alone covers guns from £100 upwards, but you need to pay for it Cover up to £5k is covered within your standard BASC membership for no extra fee if you damage another members gun while its in your control, this sort of damage is normally excluded from liability policies
rogcal
I contacted my broker this year following my building and contents renewal and asked if my guns were covered. His response was that despite them being covered under general items it would be helpful to have them listed separately on the policy together with their individual values. The only additional info the underwriters required was details of the security for the guns in the house. This I did and no extra cost involved. In some respects it's no different to my having to identify the few works of art I have and their individual values.
David BASC
I agree it can often be less expensive to put them on your home cover, but double check that the cover applies away from the home and includes damage by internal explosion ( eg blocked barrels) David
Scully
All my guns are covered individually by NFU for anything which happens anywhere I happen to have them.
