birdsallpl
Just switched on my computer, the DOS bit comes up but then the screen goes blank as it does when usually starting for a while. However now it stays blank. I can move the cursor around so assuming it's not the screen. Any ideas please much appreciated. If you also know of a computer repair person in North Leicestershire please let me know because I suspect that is what I will end up having to do. birdsallpl
Tried that thanks HAYBURN nothing happens the screen remains blank. The only affect the keyboard seams to have is the sleep mode, this works but nothing else that I can tell.
Chris Bb
I had that not so long ago. Eventually I switched the computer back on and left it alone for ages. Finally it came back to life, I think it had been updating itself with a massive update which it had downloaded at some time. I do notice that Microsoft seem to be sending lots of update stuff recently.

Alpha Mule
A recent update to my Java caused me loads of trouble. If you have recently upgraded/updated yours, try to roll back to previous to this.If you can get into Safe Mode try to run a disk check on your c drive. I'll keep an eye on this thread - more tricks as required ;0)
birdsallpl
I have had a company come and collect it this afternoon to do a diagnostic check. I really appreciate all your help but realised I am out of my depth on this one. Thanks again everyone.
