amateur
I've had a live squirrel trap in the garden for a few years, and up to this year, baited with peanuts in an open pot, caught a steady stream of squirrels. This year, however, all I found each day was an upturned pot, no nuts and no squirrel - the trap was still set. My thoughts were mice or birds, because I had seen blue-tits hopping in and out, so the cage was clad in bird netting - same result A mouse trap produced no results, but the nuts were still going. Then I considered whether the squirrel had learned to upset the bait pot, and eat the spilled nuts off the ground, so yesterday I Araldited a cluster of peanuts to the bait pot, and Araldited that to the trap plate. Result 1 very lively female and dispatched her this morning Edited November 16, 2014 by amateur
