beesley121
Hi guys, Thinking of buying a house, it has a few acres at the back of it that is owned by someone, has signs up on the main acces to the land that says it is being held in trust. Sounds like they want to hold onto it until it's passed for building permission. How can I do a check on the land to see its current status? Green belt, planning applications etc
bigbird
In trust usually means it's being held for a future beneficiary, I would doubt there's planning for anything but you never know. Try the council website, they usually have details of applications that you can search by postcode

One thing worth remembering is that whereas you can buy bricks and mortar and light, you can't buy a view.
wascal
for status - the land registry has an online postcode search. https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/land-registry for fuller details you have to pay , but it is only about £3 for planning - The planning portal has links to your local planning department http://www.planningportal.gov.uk
