Mike737
I got to wondering, why are most foodstuffs sold in the shops protected by either pop-up buttons, perforated shrink wraps, heat welded plastic etc., etc., yet butter comes just wrapped in paper... Mike.
robbiep
Butter can 'sweat'. Wrapping it in paper allows this to dissipate and evaporate.
Mike737
Yes, but my point was there isn't even a sticky tape over the back. It's completely open to being tampered with, (and many butters are wrapped in foil-backed paper). It's the lack of a seal I was wondering about. Mike. Twistedsanity
Not sure where you shop Mike , do you buy vegetables? The wrapping is normally to prevent degradation not tampering
00jacksonp
You can store things in fat to preserve them . butter has a long shelf life due to high fat. little spoiling occurs
