reproofing poncho

Went clay shooting today, wore army surplus poncho as old shooting jacket a bit snug following a stomach op, after an hour of steady rain, I was drenched.

I thought ponchos were poly coated inside and didn't need reproofing, how wrong was i?!

How would I go about rewaterproofing it, or should I just bin it and get another? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your advice,

Leon.

Considering it. Shot in a jack pyke hunter jacket for ages, but had an op a while back that left me somewhat rounder in places than before, so it's now too snug - thinking of getting another a size up, but heard the quality isn't as good as it used to be.

Anyone bought one recently, found it good?

Check out youtube or instructables.

Dilute clear silicone with (white spirit I think). You can waterproof anything with it.

Oh alright I did it for you,
