rowland75
Evening guys Im still getting to grips with springer shooting, but Im watching PCP threads closely. I have a few diving tanks , out of test but would be fine. Not including the gun. What gear is required for refilling and what would it cost? Thanks for replying Pete
kdubya
Ist off if your tanks are out of test how are you going to fill em? or are you going to have one tested (£25) anyway as to charge equipment a pic is as they say worth a thousand words so here's a link showing both types of set up ie din or a clamp to suit whatever pillar valve is fitted to your tanks. oh and ian denny (the shop the link is to ) is a good guy. cheers KW http://www.divingdirectshop.co.uk/product_...b7bfe5bfe7c4a1f
rowland75
Just to clarify. If I bought a pcp, what would I need as regards equipment to recharge it, considering I have tanks already. I did'nt ask on BBS as im sure 'would get sarky remarks and spelling/punctuation issues!!! Gotta love 'em Pete

rowland75
Kdubya Cheers for the link, seems we've posted simultaniously £55 kit £25 test (may get cheaper). How cheap can I feasibly go for a good used pcp? Whats a good starter pcp gun? Im not being tight, just careful as im not sure what to get as I love my heavy springers, and tuned X78. All pcp advice appreciated Pete

All pcp advice appreciated Pete depends on what you call cheap but the 1st pcp I picked up was a webley raider two shot complete with scope and stirrup pump, I paid £200 all up, and to be honest I could not fault the gun it accounted for many a bunny, but it went along with some other more expensive / exotic bits of **** pcp's when I finally found the ultimate hunting pcp ie an fac rapid (or two) cheers KW
Cyber
You will love PCP's more!! lol!! theres alot of second hand ones out there but for a decent one you need to be looking at £250 - £500 ish! They are expensive but well worth the cash imo! I think the cheapest PCP (brand new) on offer at the moment is probably the Brocock Hunter. On Uttings you can get it for £209.95. Its got synthetic stock and looks awesome (but does it shoot as good as it looks? I can't tell you that as I haven't seen any reviews but the price is excellent imo! The additional silencer is £30 and then you would need to look for a scope. Oh and you can get it with a wood thumbhole stock but that is £140 extra! Hope this helps (and you won't regret getting a PCP btw!)
rowland75
Cheers Kw Many thanks for replying If I could get my charging kit for £70 I could then add £250-300 for the gun, as I have scopes, bi-pods, cases etc... I dont have fac yet although I do have grounds/permission so Im planning with forthought. What would be the best gun in this price for standard tune at present, but with scope for fac levels? Pete Cheers Cyber.. Please keep replying as Im really not sure what to go with Pete

Pete if you already have the a shoot and permission, then seriously my advice would be to apply NOW for fac air as for your money perhaps say £400 max you could pick up very nice fac rapid (fac's tend to be cheaper than 12lbers second hand) then your ranges and killing power will be at an optimum straight off and you will NOT need to lay out further dosh in the future, something you WILL do if you go for a 12lb job. cheers KW
Cyber
if you could add an extra £9.95 you could get a Air Arms s400 for £309.95! And believe me, you will NOT regret getting one of these. My mate has one of these and it is insanely accurate (he is a good shot aswell though!). Awesome gun and everyone will tell you the same! Although his work was not done by a gunsmith but a local engineer friend of his so not sure what a gunsmith could/would take it too. So have you got more permission since you shooting at your mates then? I am moving in july for a year so will possibly be shootless as will be without permission (apart from stuff I have now). Also on a bloody side note, my stupid dad declared last night that actually he is mates with 3 farmers who probably own 2000+ acres all ajoining my current shoots so I would basically have an entire village or 2 too shoot if so! although bit late now, however if I get a SGC next year &/or upgrade the rifle then will defo ask him for a friendly intro
