I have just got a secondhand xtrema2 with a code of ag and the serial no can anyone tell me what year it was made? I have trolled through old posts of codes and ag does not seem to come up on them?

Ag is not on the code list. Are you sure you are looking at the right number?

I think you are looking at the Ag prefix of the serial number. Mine has the same. This ain't the date code.

Remove your forend and the barrel. On left hand side of the barrel there are several proof marks. Last two letters in a box are your date codes.

I will have to have another good look but that's the number I saw and the rfd put on my licience I did look at the code list but wasn't sure if it could be an import from another country and they had different codes etc thanks anyway ozzy

You have taken the code from the serial number mate. That's not the date code. You will find it on the barrel once you remove it from the action

You've took the letters from the serial numbers for auto shotguns my new A300 starts with AG.

 

The date codes are two letters in a square stamped under the barrel.

Here you are add a year for every letter on the alphabet so CD is 2009 CE 2010 etc.
