Royboy
I'm out early on the marsh in the morning as a guest, I'm looking at the weather and it's given heavy rain and gale force winds ! Can this effect the tide times ? Cheers
fenboy
Rain will make little difference , but strong winds could mean that the tide will make more than predicted so will reach its perdicted hieght earlier .

anser2
Royboy in my area ( Norfolk ) a wind from the north or north west can bring very high tides and an east wind has the reverse effect cutting the height of the tides. It will depend where you live.
Royboy
It's quit a scary place out there that weather ! But the bloke had been a member on there for 30 years so I felt safe, plenty of geese coming off but the wind was blowing them just wide, he's given me some forms to get into the waiting list. Hares Ear
Glad you enjoyed it RoyBoy. Not so much Cockerham, but some of MBWA's marshes are greatly effected by rain, and not necessarily on the marsh. If there has been a lot of rain miles away in the dales, and the Lune and Wyre are in flood, you can be in big trouble when the flood meets the tide.
