iain
Go to powder manufacturers web sight. Ramshot, vhitavori ect. Or bullet makers. Nossler, Barnes Hornedy. DO NOT use anyone's home load data. Work up a load from published data. For .308 a good start is a bullet weight of around 150 grain. Start with 100 cases of the same make or batch. As to powder use what you can get a good supply of. Most important thing is, take your time. No distractions
Harnser
For many years I have used 45 grains of vit 140 with a 150 grain soft point bullet . The book load is 47 and a half grains of vit 140 . I have always down loaded a little from the book loads . This load is very accurate in my rifle and will drop all UK deer species on the spot . They will travel at about 2800 ft per second . Harnser
mick miller
I found the same thing in 243 with Viht N150. I'm slightly below the recommended minimum from the data but it gives consistent results and the tightest groups on paper.
robbiep
Go to somewhere like here : http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/ Start at least 10% low (a lot of people will start 15-20% low, and you can find a 'sweet spot' anywhere. NEVER go over max load.
