HAYBURN
You should get this connected to a diagnostic code reader...( can save a lot of time and money)the more you disconnect things this will show up as a fault.check again for any other vacuum leaks. throttle body has been cleaned an new idle control vale fitted ..this will need base idle reset with a diagnostic machine. not sure if this will work remove plastic tie from throttle an let it rest on stop position. make sure everything is reconnected turn ignition on for 20 seconds do not start engine don't touch throttle, turn ign off an back on start engine without touching throttle if possible.see if this works. It could be any number of things. been 6 years away from the motor trade hard to remember thinks..Have a look here see if it rings any bells http://www.bba-reman.com/content.aspx?content=hints_and_tips_audi_idle_speed_problems
Mr mutley
Have a look at the throttle body and give it a clean. lots of air bleed jets around them and the slightest bit of muck round them will cause trouble. had that problem before. easy job on certain cars, check you can safely disconnect the throttle body wiring though as some need to be re programmed if disconnected. ditchman
It was pulsing at idle today between 1200 and 2200 rpm. It must be getting a gulp of air somewhere, thats what i thought Mac. Andy- will google that. The revs shoot up as per design when mk1 foot is firmly applied but take ages to drop Or Fuel Spencer more like frank spencer...
