ShootingEgg
My 4 month old springer has decided that a good time to need the toilet is around 0430.. Im happy to get up and let the little guy out to do his thing. He is crate trained and lives in house. Only problem is after he has done his business and i make my way zombiely back to my pit he starts to whine/bark. I ignore it as shouting or acknowledgement is deemed to be him getting attention and that's what he wants. But he just doesn't stop. It is only in the last week that he has started doing this. Any ideas on how to stop him barking after letting him out?? Any ideas welcome.
loriusgarrulus
Innotek Citronella spray collar off eBay about £30. Brilliant.
Andy135
Mine did this for a few nights at about the same age. It will pass. So long as you consistently completely ignore the barking yours will work out that he won't get any attention and will go back to sleep. Just make sure the rest of your family know to ignore him too. ShootingEgg
In theory this is exactly what has been said. But we all know in practice this isn't always what is done :-/
loriusgarrulus
Sorry. Misread the age as 4 years. Spray collar would be too big and a bit much at 4 months. Try putting radio on a low level for him after his trip out with some soothing music on.
