notsosureshot
I only got our first little dog a year ago, almost to this day, but even now, i can understand how you feel. Having previously only had cats, the strength of bond attainable with a dog is hard to describe. Solace can be found in the fact that the little pup had 16 lovely years with a loving owner. For our furry friends, this is a long and fulfilling life. I'm looking at my little lad whilst i type this and all i can say is, i know that when his time is up, I will have given him the best life he could ever have had. What more can anyone really do for their furry brothers and sisters. Best wishes.
Chris Bb
I feel for you , RIP Ollie. I had to take our house dog ,who was a rescued dog to the vet for the long sleep last week . The house is very quiet without him. I hope you have great memories from the field. Owing to age/fitness I am on my last dog (8 yrs old) and dreading her demise, the bond grows so strong it creates fear of loss:part of you dies with them.I am glad you gave her a good life and a mercifull end, nothing I can say will help but I feel for you. As above, mine went three weeks ago, a spark has gone out in my life. My commiserations to you.
