cueball
Can anyone recommend a gunsmith in no the northwest of England. I am in Liverpool and need my 626e extending. I need about an inch and a half adding so was thinking one of those burnt orange coloured pads. also anyone got any ideas on cost for the work and what a general service for a side by side should run, I might as well get them both done at the same time. Cheers in advance
loriusgarrulus
The gunsmith at Doveridge Clay ground, Uttoxeter is excellent. He did my Winchester O/U Comb raiser fitted and stock shortening with kick eze pad fitted. I think it was around £300 ish in Feb 2014 for that. welshwarrior
1 1/2" is to long for just a pad you'll need a spacer all black would look better than thick black thick orange. Personally anything over an 1" should be walnut and a smaller pad.
Gunman
I agree , best to have it made so it fits the stock as if it were a but plate with dowels so it dose not move and that it can be taken off and the original heel pad/recoil pad put back on should you want to sell the gun at a later date .If recoil is not a problem have it all wood with colour matched as best as possible looks better IMHO ,
