please advise

You mustn't use more than a half choke with any kind of steel shot, you run the risk of the shot string sticking in the choke as steel doesn't deform like lead.

 

This risk is a lot higher if you are using large shot, especially BB's. I would open your choke out as much as you can.

 

Cyl or 1/4 is a much better and safer option

im having an off day, now im shooting with some 50g bb lyalvales and im using a fairly tight choke, with certain types of steel shot chokage matters but i shudnt need to worry about it with bb? am i right or am i loosing it??

 

I presume you mean lead BB`s not steel BB`s ??

 

If so check the pattern with several shots in each choke, sorted.

The chokes that came with my Semi were classed from open to tight C,IC,M,F

 

I use IC for everything, clays using 7.5's rabbits using 6's, winged vermin using 3's 2's 0's BB's The kitchen sink, foxes using BB's

 

Seems to work for me.
