browningstalker10g Posted March 22, 2007 Report Share Posted March 22, 2007 im having an off day, now im shooting with some 50g bb lyalvales and im using a fairly tight choke, with certain types of steel shot chokage matters but i shudnt need to worry about it with bb? am i right or am i loosing it?? bobby t Posted March 22, 2007 Report Share Posted March 22, 2007 if your using heavy large steel size loads dont use a tight choke you'll blow the pattern and deform all the shot use cylinder in those sort of loads, nothing more than half. MC Posted March 22, 2007 Report Share Posted March 22, 2007 You mustn't use more than a half choke with any kind of steel shot, you run the risk of the shot string sticking in the choke as steel doesn't deform like lead. This risk is a lot higher if you are using large shot, especially BB's. I would open your choke out as much as you can. What Henry said The chokes that came with my Semi were classed from open to tight C,IC,M,F I use IC for everything, clays using 7.5's rabbits using 6's, winged vermin using 3's 2's 0's BB's The kitchen sink, foxes using BB's Seems to work for me.
