The car above is giving me greif and I'm wondering if any one can help without advising me to go to the local main dealer paying a few hundred pounds for what I consider to be a quick fix

The problem is as follows

The car thinks the drivers side door is open even though it is well shut and refuses to be locked either mechanically with the key or with the fob and just keeps reopening

I have focused my attention combined with my limited ability around the door catch area as I feel the circuit is'nt complete .

If there is anybody with knowledge in this area or can put me on the right track then it would be most appreciated .

Yes it's the new style and yes it shows the door open on the display and yes the interior light won't go out .

Any ideas ?

The ecu will get asignal from the pin switch on the door. You will probabley find the connections need cleaning. this pin switch also controls the interior light.

Hope this helps

Looking at that thred by MB it looks as if it works from a swich connected to the locking system/catch. I have the same car but its in the garage and there aint enough room to open the door that far. I didnt realise that they had done away with the old pin switches.

cheers

Dweeb

I have amate that works at vauxhall i will give him a text tom if you want.
