Topgunners
We had a mooch about yesterday and found pigeons flitting about on newly drilled beans and watched them for a while in 2 places and I set up in the one field whilst Alan drove round looking for more. After an hour only 2 shot and a rook, they did not come back and Alan and LUGS had found some more and were on 11 shot when I rang them. I picked up and drove over to where they were and joined them on this field of drillings. We then had a top afternoon's shooting. Double-deckers, 1 or 2 very long range birds and the best sight of all. Birds coming in from 200-300 yards away wings folded in tight to the body and KITEING in and dropping like stones straight into the decoys. We haven't seen that for a very Loooong time. Ended up with 78. HEAVEN. Dave K
Browning
Same around here. beans went in Wed/Thurs with the birds straight on them. Managed to get a couple of hours in Friday and had 26. Then out again Saturday late morning. Things were quiet until about 1pm when they started coming in dribs and drabs. I ended up Saturday with 38. Back out on Sunday but they just wouldn't decoy, I'm not sure why. It's just a pity I couldn't get any more guns to help on Saturday I reckon if we'd have a had a gun on each of the fields we'd have really got them moving. Highlander
Well done DaveK. Our first lot of beans went in a couple of weeks ago and the shooting was good for three or four days then it rained AGAIN. Just started drilling them again this weekend. Been out today setting up some bale hides 'cause peas are due to be going in later this week if the man from Birdseye says yes.

kippylawkid
Shedloads of beans sewn in North Northumberland - too many at once if the truth is known. It has given pigeons too much choice. I have had 87 & 76 from 2 outings. Birds arriving in MASSIVE packs between 100-400 strong. Exciting stuff but you end up scaring loads off for the day. Anyone else experiencing this? Got a decent field line up for Sat. Weather permitting should be 100+
