Yorkshireandy
I am looking at some empty new hulls in 20 bore and noticed at series of number that I was unsure of: I.e 20/70/08 I know that the 20 refers to the bore 70 is the cartridge length What i am unsure of is the final number which 08 or 16 I had seen the cartridge hulls on the Siarm website. Guest cookoff013
Depth of the metal bit! What he said. Also the Italians have a grading for the height of the head. T1 to T5, t5 being very tall brass.
johnnytheboy
Is the T1 not todo with case quality?
rbrowning2
Is the T1 not todo with case quality? No all the same quality, T1 to T5 as per cookoff013 post above.
Guest cookoff013
i buy new factory cases, the best ones i have used are the cheapest, because they are the cheapest. the t5s are used with slugs alot to signify they are slugs. but due to the popularity, they are getting used for quite a few loads above 36g / 3" / etc.
Yorkshireandy
Thanks for the help guys, very much appreciated. I was looking at buying some 20 gauge ones as they are so much cheaper than from clay and game bu they don't have any without primers at the moment. I don't want to pay £41 for explosive carridge
Guest cookoff013
shame you are so far from folkestone engineering http://www.####.co.uk/page2.pdf i use the 12gauge new hulls. and have been pleased with them. get on the blower and have a good haggle to see what you can get. £10 delivery. you can easily order 2700 then you`ll never have to worry for atleast 2699 shots. i got their deal of 2000 for £100 bargain. as a balanced report, here is an alternate source http://claygame.co.uk/products/category/20-gauge1 £120/ 1000. i think in both cases the classification is cheaper because its primed hulls not "primers only" i can recommend the first company in the first instance. Yorkshireandy
£10 delivery is fine and much better than £41. I'll just get other components from Siarm and use clay and game or FES for powders and primers and bits. 2000 for a £100 is an absolute bargain too. That'll keep me in subsonics and game loads for quite a while. Thanks for the info
