Tony G
After the severe lack of pigeons about on any of the farms I can shoot,Paul had said the silage had been cut on one of his farms so we went to see if there was any crows on it We got to the farm at midday to find probably 200 mixed rooks and crows on the cut grass, looks promising ! We only had 5 plastic crows between us so we sit up with the wind from behind after building a really good hide and waited to see what happened 2 rooks came in straight away and we dropped 1 each I put them both out on dead bird floaters about 20 yards behind the decoys Action was nice and steady with the birds coming better and better the more dead birds I layed out in the pattern After I'd got about 20 deads out some birds started to flare off so I thinned the pattern out a bit and they started coming well again We called it a day at 7 with 45 rooks and crows and 5 pigeons in the bag Both of us missed some easy ones,I think you convince yourself that because they're slower they're easier ! A good day though and nice to get a bit of shooting after what has been a very quiet spell

WelshMike
Well done buddy. Sounds like the same sort of events that I normally see with the corvids in relation to a maximum pattern size. I also think when you think a shot is easy you lose concentration and as a result miss...well I certainly do. Keep up the good work.
pigeon controller
Well done great day, crows are my nemesis the first few every session I miss behind as I think they are slow, I soon recalibrate.
Caravanman
Well done. I tend to put 20 or so rag decoys out as well as a full bodied decoy on a 6ft pole and a stuffed dog toy which resembles a pheasant underneath. Nothing beats crow shooting for me.
