Whats the best thing about wildfowling ?

I like the tranquility of the environment and the excitement of birds appearing, have I got it right, will they be in range, will I miss, will the dog get it...... But if I don't get a shot then I still have enjoyed being out there away from the masses and the stresses of modern life, all the sounds and sights of the foreshore.

I tell people new to wildfowling that if you wouldn't come out just for the sights and sounds then it's probably not for them

Always thought that you have to have something of the naturalist about you to be a wildfowler.

If your not interested in the puzzle you will never figure it out! wildfowling would be very dull if it were not for figuring out the puzzle and appreciating the other stuff. My biggest buzz last season was getting my hat nearly knocked off by so many Curlew you couldn't count them and the geese all flew back two gunshots high. Was I bothered? no!
