dibbz2000
After finally getting my FAC back I've spent several nights bunny bashing and seen quite a few Charlie around but nothing presenting a shot either safe or within range so again I set out again tonight (After making myself a Tenterfield style fox call as my Wham and Hand calling seemed to be near enough useless on them) I pitched up just on dusk 100 yards above a wood bipod out lamp on and began to call. Literally within 10 seconds the crows began to chatter and flap and Charlie appeared on the wood line scanning to see what was happening! A few more blast brought him sprinting up to a patch of nettles 70 yard away. A quick "HEY" was enough for him to stop in his tracks and allow me to place a shot cleanly in the head. Instant kill!! Very impressed with the accuracy of this gun having had 50+ rabbits over the past few nights up to 120ish yards and not missing a single killshot (Yet) Already looking forward to what the next night has in store!!! WelshMike
Well done buddy, glad to see that the anguish of the long wait for your ticket is all over and done with and I imagine it is all now forgotten. Looks like you have the hang of the new rifle. Mid Wales breeds some good foxes as he looks in fine condition (apart from being dead ) Keep up the good work. dibbz2000
Cheers! Yeah Mike he "was" tip top. It was all worth the wait in the end!! My Grandmother informs me she found her beloved cockerel this morning beheaded After not being able to find him last night to shut him in, so tonight will be all out war! dibbz2000
Sat out on the reseeding yesterday afternoon, picked off 12 bunnies and this chap who appeared from a hedge 50 yards away. Don't know if its the culprit or not but it's one less. They are rife around here at the moment having seen several over the past week whilst out with the dog & lamp! Not a bad place to be!
