kent
I don't personally use crimp dies but I think its the fact they produce a straighter round that makes them reportedly shoot better than std dies in the hornet over the neck tensions. I use LE Wilson Bench rest hand dies which give very straight rounds and use neck bushes and have experimented with different neck settings and found no real difference in accuracy in my rifle through the range of tensions. have literally even used so little a nip that some cases once sprung back overnight and the bullets were falling out and had to be re-done, they still shot well just after loading though not useable the next day. I tend to run the DTI over the necks and don't think I have had as great as 1 tho' run out Brass life is not an issue with the Hornet if you use little gun, the pressure is so low for the velocity it produces compared to other powders. The Hornet as it headspaces on the rim needs quality brass however, this also helps brass life. I use RWS brass in the main.
Underdog
Rws brass is great and worth selling a child or something similar if one shoots a lot of hornet. I joke, maybe a kidney, from your child, maybe.
bicykillgaz
Mine was 18" and actually shorter than my .22lr due to having an over barrel mod. Shot amazing even though the barrel was pitted. 10.9gr of h110, 40gr v-max, rem 71/2br primers and ppu brass was devastating!
