viking
iv bought some 8" wipac spotlights for my disco, i wanted them fixing on the bumper on the 2 buts that stick out a little, took them to the garage last week as they were putting some new bushes on, i thought they would just drill the bumper and bolt them on, when i went to pick it up hed made a poor bottom bracket, and then an even poorer tops strap type thing because he said they would rattle around, and reason for not going through bumper was there was nothing under it, but iv seen a disco knocking around localy with the same lights on the bumper, any one ever had any on there disco? . chady
There not bad! And a lot less hassle than fixing to your bumper and putting a backing plate on.
aga man
I think to do it correctly you need a spot lamp bar like this one.
Cosd
Best bet is the lamp bar like Aga Man's, otherwise I think they didn't do bad at all if you just have them the lamps without brackets.
viking
think i was being a bit fussy, they have grown on me now, was thinking about the light bar thing but that would of made them go above the bonnet. thanks for your reply chaps. lee
viking
do we think the top support straps are needed?
Mike737
If the bottom mounting is not really stable, then the top strap will stop the beam bouncing up and down as you are driving. Also gives you micro-adjustment by shuffling it forwards or backwards in the drilled hole. Mike.
