You need a recipe that uses a fast powder at higher pressures so when you reduce it the cartridge still has enough pressure to burn consistently. I'm not aware of any data for 30grams of lead in 20gauge using A1 but my recipe using A0 is on the FES website. It is proofed so safe and very effective as a subsonic load.
