Wasabi
Does anyone use an ounce of five shot for pheasants through a 12? I always expected them to be a bit short on pellets. After doing some pattern testing yesterday with the above cartridge I am more than impressed with them especially as they are "only" an ounce. Being BG they are English 5 shot. 10 shot average at 40 yards through 1/4 choke produced 62% and 1/2 choke 81%. Good even patterns with very few double or triple pellet strikes. Guest cookoff013
If you are concerned about count, up the choke. But often that can be counter intuitive as the patterns are dense so in calculateable. Choke it.
matone
Used 28g of 5`s for most game shooting for a few years now and wouldn`t use anything else by choice ! Very effective ,although some choke is probably helpful.
