This is better than the religious one I started a couple of weeks back

 

For the record I had some work done on the car by a JW. He was a "brother" of a chap I worked with. I was qupted £60 but when I picked the car up he said it took him less time than he thought and only charged me £30. How many other people would have done that?

 

I am of the opinion that all religion is a crass waste of life, full of hypocrites and people who go to church to show off the new Sunday hat. However if they choose to live the life they preach then good luck to them, they are not doing anyone any harm and will indeed be helping others.

Every where you go in life there are good and bad people and many who are various shades in between.

 

Their religion, sexual preference, nationality, colour, hair style, etc., rarely makes them the way they are.

Its usually early life experiences that does that.

 

That is where we are so wrong to brand whole groups of people, because of our experiences with one or two.

LG. I enjoyed reading your posts on this thread, it says a lot for you. Couple of points for you though. Money is not the root of all evil, the real quote says that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. I go to a Baptist Church, they pass the plate round - its what pays the Ministers wages and the leccy bills etc.

We used to get JW's round my parents area quite regularly as its quite an expensive / desiarable area to live, where I live now they dont bother us as its not such an affluent area. They seem more interested in recruting people who they think can bring wealth with them into the church. However about half an hour ago the door bell rang, this turned out to be someone to see if they could count on my vote they very quickly handed me the leaflet and left, as ringing the doorbell sends the dog mad and running to the door, she was greeted with me opening the door hanging onto my ridgeback by the collar who was bouncing about at the stranger who was on the door step.

I studied with Jehovas Witnesses for quite a while and found them GOOD PEOPLE!

 

How many Jehovas witnesses steal cars or burgle houses? How many hang about on street corners swearing and drinking?

 

They beleive they are doing whay they were told to do by the good book and spreading the word etc. Just tell them NO THANKS and please don't return and the major part will leave you in peace.

 

When i was going through a very bad chapter in my life they were the ONLY people who showed compassion and stood by me helping me through the days till i got back on top. They were Polite respectful truthful honest people and it's just a shame the majority of Christians and Catholics aren't as nice to others as these people were to me!

 

I would rather have a street full of Jehovas witnesses than some of the rabble i have living in my area

 

They come round MY area now and then trying to spread the word and i invite them in for Tea and a chat and often this lasts an hour or more. I can have a Healthy debate with these people and i think they enjoy the exchanges of points of view.

 

I know they have their quirks but then so do ALL religious bodies.

 

The Blood transfusion one I beleive is because according to the bible the Blood is the soul to the body!

 

They CAN however have a PLASMA transfusion i beleive instead of blood which in most cases is just as succesful in saving lifes.

 

Lets face it with all the CJD and AIDS contaminated blood it shows it has SOME merit!

 

I am not saying Blood transfusions are bad as I am NOT a jehovas Witness but i DO show them Respect and this in all the cases i have been involved with has been reciprocated.

 

If your having a Bad experience with them then simply call into the local Kingdom hall and explain you don't want anyone to call and even go as far as putting a POLITE notice on your gate "no canvassers or religious bodies"

 

In all fairness I think they are a mis understood religious group trying to do what they beleive is their role in life.

I'm just generally anti-religion. I play no favourites and my general rule of thumb is that I don't care what sex, race, religion or sexuality you are as long as you do your job. It works for me.

 

As far as JWs are concerned, I once answered the door to them holding a drooling Irish Setter and holding a scoped up HW77. They got a bit worried at that and stopped calling. I didn't even have to argue their philosophies with them, which is always fun. Hell, arguing religion is _always_ fun with religious people, especially when you get to dinosaurs... Maybe that's me taking out my age old frustration on them for all the church I was forced to go to at school.

I used to get regular visits from them untill one day i invited them in for a cuppa and a chat After spending an hour with them and shooting their religion that full of holes they decided to leave doubting their beliefs, the women that came with the man was that upset she was crying her eyes out and wailing . For some reason I've never had any more visits which is a shame really as it was so much fun :yp: .

If you have ever known a jehovas family and watched there 2 year old son die because of their stupid beliefs and you still respect them for it then words cannot sum up how i truly feal at this moment. . Having seen this first hand makes me believe that that they ain't worthy of life themself's, i show more respect for humane kills on vermin
