viking Posted September 7, 2016 Author Report Share Posted September 7, 2016 i guess its how much it costs to do and how much you pay for vehicle, i payed £1500 for mine and all in it will stand me at £13-£14k. if your buying a series one for say £9k then your probably looking at around £20k or would it cost alot more than what iv done mine for, and if its all period correct then you would have to be very anal (bottom) (hole) and for a year of your spare time £4-7k isnt a great return, only thing to do is quit my job do 4 a year and become a full time land rover restorer Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ditchman Posted September 9, 2016 Report Share Posted September 9, 2016 Lee.....................i dont admit defeat very often.........i got your vents this morning.........im sorry to say they are totally stuffed....parts of the body have 1/4" of galvanising on them, including the long hinges................the only thing i could do is to cut the hinges off....cut the gravity clips off....they are stuffed cause of the heat has detempered the springs and try and somehow rescue the bodies............. i couldnt replaced the gravity latches or the hinges so we are stuffed really.... what do you want me to do with them ?............... ditchman Posted September 9, 2016 Report Share Posted September 9, 2016 Will we have to wait for you to get the film back from boots? hope you die from piles......... you can still get them from new....been on Rovers north (american website that imports parts) and they are charging ...wait for it....$415.00/vent.... ive had a phone around....no luck......what you might do is to buy a really cacky set rusted.....if the hinges and clips are ok..i can transfere them.....but i will braize them so you wont be able to galvinize them...and i will spray them with Galvafroid......or you can have them electroplated before i work on them....
