cooooper1
hi what was you shooting over? it may`ve been the magnet that the birds did`nt like and not the flapper, Edited August 10, 2015 by cooooper1
lazybones
I was shooting over cut rape started with the flapper but struggled to decoy so put out the magnet had more interested but not many committed to landing so changed pattern a few times I am still learning. You don't need them committed to land unless you are shooting them with a airgun or such like , you just need them to come for a close enough look , which is what the magnet is excellent for . As for the flapper I put mine toward the front of the pattern in the killing area.
sitsinhedges
I generally put mine forward of the pattern by maybe 30 meters so by the time they realise it's fake it's too late. Other times maybe in the pattern at the front, it all depends how the birds are reacting to it.

Redditch
I use the magnet off to one side, and a flapper in the middle and at the other side. Works well, and brings them in for a look. Don't need them to commit to land, just close enough to shoot.
