Cranfield
The spec looks good as does the price. Hopefully, there is someone on here that has actually owned, or used one.
pin
They are a good gun, but as with all shotguns it is imperative that it fits you. Try and find one locally you can have a go with and see how it feels and how you feel about it. Unlike a rifle the fit is absolutely critical since you have no sights to line up as such, it needs to be shooting where you are looking or you won't hit anything. You are more than welcome to come down to the local friendly clay shoot with me (SS will probably be there, see if Pelty wants to come) and everyone there will be more than happy for you to have a few rounds with their guns to see how you get on. You might luck out and get a cracker which fits you perfectly, but that doesn't normally happen. More usually a few months down the line people end up buying another one which fits them better, or suits their style and physique better. For example I am big strong lad so I find the 30" barrels on my Beretta help slow my swing down. There are so many variables, if you don't mind buying and changing, so long as you get a good deal, you might not loose too much selling it on again... MC
The gun I had 6 months ago was a Winchester Select Sporting, I had a 101 Super Grade XTR about 15 years ago and wish I had never sold it. The are superb guns and well worth what they are asking for it(as long as it is in good nick) As with any gun though completely useless unless it fits you reasonably well. Devon Fox
Take the fore end off and have a look inside and see how the locking mech is fitted, i looked at a winny select, and the gun smith showed me ...... held in by glue, as in a jet melt glue gun, looked like it had been assembled by a 14 year old on his 1st woodwork class at school. I really liked the gun,but that put me off (and they were brand new stock!)
08shooter
winny select is a new winny not the same quality as the 101 5500/6500 range.
MC
The one I had was better than my 101, I don't know about the newer ones but mine was made in Belguim and there was certainly nothing glued on.
