SuperGoose75
Hi gents, i have a birthday Coming up and the Missus said she will buy me a gopro and is willing to Spend around £150. There seems to be many options out there' and Was wondering What model you guys would recommend for that money..? I will be using it for Wildfowling mostly so it will be used in Bad light at dusk and dawn. I see on another thread that you get a remote control to switch it on and off' I really am clueless when it comes to anything "Techy". When i get one Will have youse tortured trying to figure it out. A few additional questions for you gopro'ers. Do you Switch it on and off only when a shot presents itself..? Can these short clips all be edited together and how do you go about it..? For example if i took a video on a phone/camcorder' i would have to upload the whole clip in one go' even the quiet pieces or are there ways to also edit them..? I suppose one with Wifi would be better for bluetoothng ect..? So is the remote the way to go when in the field..? I see some great videos by the likes of Ollie' ect and see ones with music, writing and even still photos in the Clips posted..how is this all possible' do you need extra Stuff for this..? That will do for now' as I would like peoples opinions on what to go for first..i probably could stretch her limit a little further if need be..? Any advice great appreciated.Thanks. ollie
Thanks for the kind words 😂😂. I don't have a gopro so can't comment on that. However, stuff like music, comments etc can be added when you are editing the video. I think gopro have their own editing software, but there are other free editing programmes like windows movie maker which I use. Good luck whatever you get, look forward to seeing the videos. Plenty of techy guys on her willing to help.

Big Al
There are cheaper options than go pro too. I've just ordered a new one based on recommendations in the Corvid Shooting thread. From what I hear though, gopro is the brand to beat. Like Ollie I use Windows Movie Maker - it came already installed on my laptop. It is pretty easy to use and you can do all the things you mention above. I don't leave my current one running all the time - battery life is one potential problem, as is running out of storage on your device. If there is a lot of traffic I leave it running, otherwise I only switch it on if I suspect a shot is on. Normally you get a surprising amount of warning when on the shore! I'm looking forward to seeing your first video!

I have now in my possession a Gopro Hero 3 White edition' Got a surprisingly good deal on it.It didnt not come with many extras so i now await a headstrap. I have been reading some of the booklet that came with it and it seems straight forward enough. My old laptop is hanging on by a thread so i will leave all the "techy" stuff to Missy who is pretty good on these things. Im not sure when i will get to use it as I have little free time these days' although i might try it out on the pigeons/crows first before i take it out Fowling'. most of my Shooting is Done in the bad light of the predawn and dusk' so dont know if it will be of any use in such bad light. Might get some footage of inland geese before our Short Window of a season comes to a close. Thanks again. Redditch
Supergoose75, get a bundle, anything between £12.00 and £30.00 and contains most all the mounts. Stick in mounts, elbows, head mount, chest mount etc. Only thing not in them is the gun mount, but a handlebar mount is usually in there, and can be used in an emergency, though not as good as the proper gun mount. As far as gun mounts go, cheaper is the clone one that's the original GoPro one (as with all mounts) Just check ebay and Amazon
SuperGoose75
Cheers for that Redditch, I have the Gopro Clip head strap ordered already as it looks a decent bit of kit..i did however look at the bundles you mention and may well order one of them also as it will give other options. Thanks again for your advice' much appreciated
