digger
I'm looking at buying the "facelift" model ( not the very latest one sadly ) and have a budget of £ 4k. Prefer a diesel estate over petrol as I do 300 miles a week and will be doing regular runs to Portsmouth from sarf London. Does anyone know if the engines are good ? there's some cracking top of the range models that are within my price band. Any experience of ownership / known bad spots ? thanks
chady
Had a lot of fords and Mondeo herd of a couple go wrong but the all do other than that great cars. Think the petrol drink fuel but the deisils are fine

chady
Very high mileage for that price and age
craftycarper
Mine has most of the toys fitted, 2010 bought new and I'm on 88,000. Do a lot of running around to city and back and weekends away, soon mounts up. Friend has a galaxy same year, believe it or not he's on 239,000 already....I think the trips to Croatia haven't helped
fse10
Love mine 08 2.0 tdci estate 600 plus miles to the tank & go's like a stuck pig when you press the loud pedal . Would love a mk5 but for the one i want with a few bits added 30k plus & as the boot on my mk4 is smaller then the one on the mk3 i had, i bet the boot is smaller again on the mk5 but i think i could live with that. Has 139000 on the clock but runs sweet as a nut.
sportsbob
I have a diesel estate and get very good mpg and it pulls very well, be aware a lot of them will need a clutch and front lower suspension arms at around 125000 miles.
