Hi,

Dad wants to know what you would reccomend for a mobile phone contract which he can use at work as pay as you go is becoming expensive calling various workers around the Manor everyday. He does not want a flash mobile as he is likely to drop it half a dozen times a day and generally abuse it like his current Nokia. :good:

What mobile contract would you reccomend and is there any way of him retaining his current number from his sim card? What sort of price range do they start from as he will not be making loads of calls?

Thanks in advance for any and all replies!

There are too many tariffs to go into....have a look on carephone warehouse or phones 4 U websites for a good idea of what you are after....do it before you go into a store as all they will try and do is sell you the one that gets them the most from the service provider......and you can keep the same number....you just ned to let the provider know and they give you a reference number to give to your new network provider.

I much prefer to do all that stuff on the internet....you get the best deals and don't have to listen to some spotty oik of a salesman feeding loads of bull.

Good luck

When your dad gets the new phone, prior to doing so phone up your existing network and request a PAK code. They will send you this in a letter and it allows you to keep your number regardless of your network (they also carry "active dates" ie when they expire and begin). Then once you have your new phone use the provided number and sim card then phone up, give them the PAK code and they will transfer your dad over in a couple of days to the old number.

Althou as pin says 2 way radios maybe cheaper £70 for 4 thats only around 2-3 months line rental (without calls etc) and once you have the radio's thats it!
