roy8762
My pigeon magnet only works for sbout 5 mins with a controller fitted- then stops- disconnect the controller and it works fine- all be it running so fast the poor hypa flap decoys can barely keep up! Any ideas as to why it won't work properly with a speed controller wired in? Cheers guys!
Cranfield
Is it a faulty controller, have you tried another one ?

roy8762
The lead on the magnet is around 9 foot long- the controller is brand new- I bought it to replace the other controller which I thought was faulty as I'd did exactly the same thing- I do jhowever have the controller coming straight off of the battery- lenth of the controller lead about a foot long in total-
marsh man
I had more or less the same problem , the first controller I bought from A A Decoys had the two flanges close to each other at the bottom of the box and I think now and again when they touched they blew a fuse , then after three or four fuses the box packed up . I spoke to one of the chaps on the A A Decoy stand at the local game fair and he changed it F O C with a new one , this one had the flanges on the sides and didn't blow the fuse but the box got hot after a bit of use until after a few months that one packed up , I spoke to the chap again ( Dave ) who kindly replaced it again . With being without it for a few months until they sent me another I found it didn't make any difference to the Pigeons coming in to it going at the speed without the box on , so I sold the new one on here and haven't used one since . Maybe yours is home made ? , what difference that make I don't know , but that's what they asked me . Good luck with yours Roy.
roy8762
To be honest marsh man the pigeons seemed to be a little more interested when the magnet was running without the controller- was a little bothered by the fact that the motor was quite warm- but I guess in a reasonable wind it would cool it a bit, yesterday there was no wind and bright sun! Thanks for all your help guys- I'm going to run it for a while without the controller! Uncle Albert
Leave the speed controller off and let it run. You don't need it.
