magman
ok got the fac through and bought both at the same time . my personal choice would be the 22 rf for its stealth as when out last night i sat in the same spot for 1 1/2 hours and had 9 rabbits and a squirel all within 50 yrds , dont think i would of done this with a 17 hmr. also the bloody rabbits are pain with head shot's more noise off them when the bullet strike,s than the rifle itself
JohnGalway
If the HMR was as quiet as the .22lr it'd be a short contest! I picked the .22lr due to it being so quiet, love the HMR trajectory but not the noise, not most places I shoot anyhow.
beatingisbest
.22lr ammo is much cheaper and less meat damage than .17hmr and .22lr are much quieter Many rabbits will let you be within 100 yards of them, therefore i dont see .17hmr being anymore useful. kip270
I voted for the .22 as i am yet to collect my .17hmr(roll on friday ) I have spent some cracking times bunny bashing with the .22, and it is cheap for range work too That may all change come next weekend Will have to see how many times the .22 comes out to play once i get my .17hmr
Oly
.22rf It's just...well...better!!!
al4x
I reckon you would have shot just as many with the HMR, I've shot more than that sitting in the same place including 9 a few weeks ago in about 2 minutes while lamping in the same spot. They sound noisy but if you stand (safely) downrange you won't be able to work out where the noise comes from
