I have a pair of old minox night and day binos . They have a yellow coating on the front lenses and are very good .with a super clear image and very good in low light conditions .

They are stamped on body of the binos as being 40 x 50 . They are definitely not 40 magnification ,but are 50 object lenses . I am sure that they are 10x50 and not 40x50 .

My question is , have they been stamped wrongly or is there another method of stating the power of binos .
