i would imagine 50 quid gets a basic range system.them chinese do some basic models for 59 quid.TBH the best ive ever seen was Swaros rangefinder binos ,i got to play with in Hereford.red display and stunning image in low light.if you have a gunshop local have a play Countryman of Derby allowed me the full look see b4 purchase in low light and they were fine.If you look about Leica,s are 2 to 300 quid same style as the Hawke .atb and enjoy your new tool when u get it.

I use a Hawke model (about £125). It's ok but whilst advertising a 400m range, it's not that effective beyond 350m, so if you want longer range, the 600m version might be better. It's ok, nothing special but as with all RFs, low light use is compromised as a portion of the light coming in is reflected for the EDM measurement to the clock sensor so not all light goes to your eye. There's a good article on the following link if you'd like to learn a bit more about them: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2013/10/29/how-do-rangefinders-work/

If you want something to cover large distances in variable lighting conditions, you get what you pay for and good ones are still not cheap.
