simjakcal
Had a great season, put 750 birds down on our main farm with 3 woods/pens and have had about 370 so far, with this Saturday and maybe Monday still to go...we must have lost about 100 to gape and some to predators early on....birds have held well.. scolopax
111 pheasants from 350 bought in, although some were lost to disease and a minor fox kill when in the pen, so effectively about 310 released. Happy enough with that now as it was looking pretty dire in the early part of the season. We have been very consistent recently, our last four shoots yielding 15 or 16 pheasants each time. Very few various this year, only four woodcock and one or two pigeons and hares. Did not shoot partridges as we released none and the wild ones are only just hanging on. sako751sg
Excellent as usual but with not putting birds doon its not all about numbers. Great numbers of ducks and we didnt shoot the ponds as much as we should but probably have too many.Pheasants were down a bit but still good numbers and woodcock were maybe up on last year with pigeons being outstanding with huge numbers. Will have a wee walk with the old fella the morn maybe if the weather is not too bad.
