lakeside1000
Happy new year everyone, spent a few hours out on the pigeons yesterday with my nephew who has just started shooting getting his SGC just 3 weeks ago, the day before we had done 50 clays each on a local skeet range and I was well impressed with his performance, sadly there were no birds about (as usual) so we spent the time going over decoy patterns , gun safety , hide building and lot lots more, He was well pleased as the day was sunny and bright with just a cool wind from the south west, We cleared the decoys away and dropped the hide, as I was packing up a huge hen pheasant came down on the wind right through the patch that had been our pattern, the lad had seen it coming, grabbed his gun and swung into it , one shot and he had his first ever pheasant, the icing on the cake. My missus is laying the law down now as Ive been out 4 times in the last 4 days, she say's I have to have some family time for a few days, so time to clean the kit, oil the guns and reflect on 2015, not a bad year ,I think Ive spent more time out shooting this year than for many previous years, my first season on wild fowl as well which is going very well, lets hope 2016 is good to us all.
