Dead-Eyed Duck
Yep - Eley's are best in a bolt action. Don
kip270
Looks like Eley are the winners
ciltalgarth
ELEY'S I rate eley's they work for me.
JJaxeman
I also have a cz style but in 21" I think it is, and looking at what the difference is eley's do have a better grouping just got to get through the remaining 400 odd rounds left from the 1000 I bought. Then I will buy a few to see how they go But the rabbits don't like the winchester's even though they might not group aswell
Frank
Winchesters, seem to hit harder. For me anyhow Frank.
kip270
My mate said the same thing, he uses winnie subs, while i was using Eley subs, the rabbits he shot the hit sounded louder?? Surely they are the same velocity, maybe the bullet is harder lead??
JohnGalway
Winchesters, seem to hit harder. For me anyhow Frank. Never shot anything besides paper with Winnie subs, foxes weren't complaining about Eleys. Must get another box or two of Winnies to try out again. Surely they are the same velocity, maybe the bullet is harder lead?? If you have a look at Winnies compared to Eleys, the hollowpoint on Winnies is wider. Hence, a Winnie will impart more of it's initial energy - you will hear this as a much louder 'Smack'. This is obviously a benefit. However, in all of the tests that I have done Eleys were more accurate - how much depends on the individual rifle. I also think that Winnies are slightly faster, as in warm weather I have had the occasional 'crack' from them as the round goes supersonic. You pays your money and takes a choice. 30-6
Yeah - but the scope can be altered to bring them to the right, then they will be

So how did you do your test here http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...showtopic=32835 Did you alter your scope when trying the different bullets???
