Exudate
Near-freezing cartridges sure do leave some gubbins in your barrel through in-complete powder-burn! Doesn't appear to reduce effectiveness at regular decoy ranges, mind you.
anser2
I have never had any problems with lead shells , but twice i have kept steel cartridges overnight in a car in -10 temperatures and the knock down powder of the cartridges was badly effected. When I changed over to shells that had been kept in the house and they were fine. I guess it was because steel uses different powders. Exudate
These had been in my cartridge bag in the field for around 4 hours. I could tell they'd lost power so to speak, since they were struggling to cycle my Benelli M2. They were still cleanly killing pigeon at around 20 yards, though. johnnytheboy
Could swap to a cold weather powder cartridge such as a jk6 or ch6
Exudate
Cheers for that, Johnnytheboy. I never appreciated that there was a cold weather purpose powder. Fiocchi have one: http://www.fiocchiuk.com/site/index.php?pag=790&linea=6&titolo_prod=JK6
bakerboy
Keep the cartridges somewhere warm and dry for a couple of nights before you go out. I put my hand warmer in the cartridge bag if it is really cold.
Guest cookoff013
You should see hot international loads at 700bar go, the barrel ends up virtually cleaner!
