AberFowl
Our German short haired pointer has crusty/scabby bits on the tips of her ears. My Mrs took her to the vets couple week ago and vet gave her some surolan to put on her ears, said it's just sore bits but no definite diagnosis, useless! Any ideas what it could be, she rarely scratches at her ears or shakes her head but when I stroke over her ears with abit of pressure she sometimes gives a yelp. Any help appreciated. It's not cleared up with the cream stuff and doesn't seem to be getting better
berthaboo
I have a gsp and she has scabby bits on the ends of her ears it's caused by her flying in and out of cover. Have a look at her ears after she's been in cover it may be that.

WGD
It's just cuts from cover, if they're not bothering her leave them to heal. Dogs with smooth ears seems to suffer more than spaniels, my labs have always had slight scar thickenings on the ear tips because of this. loriusgarrulus
If you are worried about infection put Rose and Co's Zambuk on. Made to the original Fisons recipe. Works great on the dogs and humans too.
jeffjjack
Camrosa ointment is good, horrible greasy stuff but works a treat for this kind of injury/condition Edited January 27, 2016 by jeffjjack
WGD
Camrosa ointment is good, horrible greasy stuff but works a treat for this kind of injury/condition I second that, but I recommended it once before for this type of condition and the person wasn't too happy with the traces of camrosa up and down the stairwell wallpaper
