ShaggyRS6
My fault, I stupidly have let my dog get further and further away from me until now I am in a situation where he will not come back until he is knackered. then he will do what he is told with regards coming back to a call or whistle. Help!!!!! I am assuming I need to get him on a long lead, then let him off with a "Go Play" command or something similar when I dont need him near me? I'm **** at training!!!! new to the flock
Try This; During Training do not give the recall command off lead....if you decide to give him a run....as this will teach him to once again ignore you. You can walk him on the retractable lead so that you keep control, but do not try to heel him on it as unless you have a lot of experience it is very difficult to do it correctly. Heel on your normal lead and switch to the flexi once you are at your walk site. NTTF

ShaggyRS6
Just tried this. Works brilliantly. I had him on the long lead longer than suggested. Probably about 20 mins worh of training. I let him off the lead, and he comes back alot more to the "here" command. This looks like it will work well
