Cranfield
I,ve tried various ways of pulling them over the branch on string, but even when you get them up to the branch, its very difficult to make them balance. One false move, the lot is on the floor and you start all over again. I,ve only ever used lofting poles successfully, but even they can be a pain. The best system I ever had was homemade (not by me). It was a number of "tent poles" that screwed together, to a maximum length of 25ft. On the top pole was a female thread, into this was screwed a cross bar, on which there were 3 fittings (similar to fishing buzzer bars), a decoy was fitted on each. The whole thing was raised up into the tree/hedge. It was made stable by "threading" the poles through the branches and sticking the end into the ground. Vermin Dropper
I know a bloke who uses strings, but he shoots regularly at the same spots and leaves the strings tied off, a sort of pulley system I expect. I use lofting poles, 6 x 5ft poles which connect together with a "brand head" fitting on the top to loft 2 decoys upto 30ft, quite cheap and spot on. bigdev
Drill 2 holes threw the center of the decoy, then tie fishing line threw the holes in a loop and fix to the branch using clothes line pole. The one you can extend

That would be a good drey pokeing tool too.
Teal
Having never used lofted birds (seems a lot of hastle) are they a big draw? I have heard magazines talk of them but they usually talk up most things. Never seen anyone do it in reality!
