gduk
Hi, I am flying on Holiday to Canada late summer and wish to take two shotguns, also taking tons of fishing equipment!! Has anyone done it, any advice? I am going out via Gatwick, I have got and filled out the Canadian declaration form, 5589E, I believe there is no form to fill out her re Police, although should I tell them?? (I know you do for Europe) But it does not say anything on the Police website non Europe. Can I take both in one locked approved Peli case? (3 shot Beretta auto 12g, one bolt action BSA .410) Actions open, no ammo, trigger locks on. Any advice at all would really be appreciated, G. Glenlivet
I would have thought that your airline would advise on inflight storeage requirements. Edited March 17, 2016 by Glenlivet
Catamong
Yes, as not all airlines will carry firearms, you need to check first. Cat.

Catamong
You don't need to inform the police here, it's OK to carry 2 guns in one case, and do allow extra time to check in, as you have to go through the red "goods to declare" channel, it can take a long time. 100milesaway
I have travelled to many countries with my guns but always got a written OK from the Airline and made sure I took copies of my licence and European gun permit as back up.I also had a special document that I had invented myself to give to the airport police with all relevant details on, Like all my personal details ,gun type, make, bore and gun number, flight details, all the things that they will ask you written down. Saves them loads of time and gives you an air of respectability. That said, I also recall an England team member being refused to bring his gun onboard because the pilot didn't like guns even though the airline agreed passage... I think it was one of the channel island flyers .When you get to the airport ,join the normal queue when it's your turn advice the check in person discreatly that you are carrying a firearm and they will pass you through security and take your gun off you, you won't see it again until you reach your destination, if you are on a double flight make sure your gun has transferred with you. .Don't pack your gun case keys in your luggage as the police will check your licence against the gun details at the airport.Don't be surprised if your gun is on the luggage carousel at the other end, many countries are not as big as us on gun security. Enjoy your trip. from Auntie. Edited March 17, 2016 by 100milesaway
