the enigma
Has anyone had any success using 52gr Amax in a .22rem? I've a T3 with a 1:14 twist and I want to work up a load for a heavier bullet than the 40s I'm currently using, as they're not great in the wind at longer ranges. activeviii
Yes, no problem in my old Tikka T3. 21.5gr of benchmark worked with one hole groups. Seated 2.2" oal

Seated 2.2" oal I agree but it is my "new" T3 ! It also shoots 55 gn sierra semi soft point quite nicely as you can see.... (3 shot group at 100M) Not quite a 1 hole group in the spirt if it but good enough for field shooting

activeviii
I'm running them in the new T3 .223 as well now. Same powder, same bullet, same primer, same charge weight. Geuss what, it's one hole groups again. But so are 40vmax and 40 bltiz kings.
the enigma
Currently using 40gr Nosler Varmageddon over Reloder7, and getting groups a shade under .5", it's a great bullet for rabbits and corvids as it's extremely frangible, but it get blown about too easily. I have tried Hornady 50gr factory ammo, and it performed much better in the breeze at longer ranges.

Bewsher500
I ran 52gr AMax in a Brno with great success Upgraded rifle to a Sako in the same 1:14" twist and they were spiralling It's the length and a slightly longer twist rate and potentially different groove calibre I suspect http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/showthread.php/105857-Anyone-using-52gr-AMax-in-Sako-222-s?highlight=1%3A14%26quot%3B+Sako+Amax%26quot%3B
