Cleaning question for 6.5x55

Hi Guys. I just picked up my new 6.5x55 on Friday. Haven't shot it yet. I won't have a scope until July/August. However. I have a place I can use it without the scope just to run in the barrel if I want. I also got a T8 moderator.

Here are my questions:

1. What size of rod/fittings do you need for cleaning the inside of the 6.5 barrel???

2. Also do any of you know where to get a jab to suit this calibre and patches???

By the jab I mean the wee brass thing which looks like it has washer at the patch end where there is a spike on the end and you just pull a patch onto it and push through.

I reminds me on a honey dipper. If you have ever seen one in a honey pot, the space between the washers lets the honey in so you can life out the honey, the jab looks a bit like that. ??? bad explaination but I don't know a better one ???

You may want to read this before you attempt to break in your barrel :good:

BD,

You can get all the right sized stuff from Pro-Shot, you just need to find a supplier.

I got mine from Minsterley guns when I bought my 6.5 and the jag and brush are 6.5mm, not something else adapted to fit.

I have a Dewey cleaning rod which just needs a female/female adaptor to use the Pro-Shot bits.

They also supplied the guide which is just a piece of plastic machined to size.

Here are the bits you need, available from all good gunshops.
